Cats have amazing senses that make them great hunters. They can move and find food in many places because of their incredible senses. We will look at two cool things about cats: their hearing and smell.

Cats can hear sounds that humans can’t. They can pick up ultrasonic sounds that are too high for us. This helps them find mice, which squeak in these high-pitched sounds. Cats can hear up to 79 kHz, while we can only hear up to 20 kHz.
Their sharp hearing also helps them find danger or food. It’s one of the cool cat facts that makes them good hunters. Their ears can move a lot, helping them find where sounds come from.
A cat’s sense of smell is very strong. It’s up to 14 times better than ours. This lets them smell many things, like food and pheromones.
Cats have a special organ called the vomeronasal organ, or Jacobson’s organ. It’s in their mouth and helps them smell pheromones. When they find interesting smells, they often curl up their lips. This is called “flehmen,” and it helps them smell better.
Learning about cats’ senses shows how amazing they are. Their senses make them interesting and loved pets.
